Strange but I don't seem to understand what is going on here. This unit has not been used since last winter and was fired for the first time yesterday. The electric ignition is working as I think it should and will stay on for 30-45 seconds waiting for gas but I never even smell it. Seems like the valve may be "stuck". Is there any way to get the fuel to flow without removing and disassembling the valve? Is there anything else that would prevent the fuel from flowing? Main board maybe? How about a reset of the entire system?

Check if the main gas valve(upstream of furnace) is open.
Check if the gas valve is on.
Check if the pilot burner orifice is clogged or distorted( which may vent gas out of ignitor)
If you've got multimeter, measure the volt of gas valve(mv,pv) if 24v exists when ignitor is sparking.

I like fixing everything.
