This used to happen ever few months or so and I would take it as a sign the air filters etc... needed to be cleaned and I would clean them and it would work for several more months without a problem. Now that it is starting to get cold the breaker seems to trip whenever the heat is on for more than 10-15 minutes or so.
I've thoroughly cleaned the inside unit (not sure the correct term, but see included pic) and today took the outside unit apart looked for any suspicious wires and thoroughly cleaned the coils. Thought that fixed it, but it's now 5:20 AM and it is tripped again.
Update: System has been working for the past two nights. I believe the problem was some corroded wiring (see picture) in the air handler unit was causing the circuit breaker to trip. A little sand paper on the wire and contacts hopefully did the trick.

Hi, If you have Amprobe meter, check the current draw when the system is operating. That will tell you whether breaker is bad or something else is bad. Or if you want to, you can replace the breaker with a new one(exactly same one) and see what happens.
