I would like to replace an existing Janitrol hpt 18-60 with a programmable thermostat. I purchased two different Honeywell models from Lowe's; however, once wired, I could not get the unit to power on. Please help....Thanks!

did you kill the power to the unit before you wired it?
you blew the fuse or the transformer.
