Bought this furnace in 1987 worked great until last week, cycled on blowing cold air only. Local furnace guy came out - told me the relay is bad, would cost more than $500 to replace - if he can find the part - and the furnace will soon become a money pit so I shouldn't waste my money on fixing it. He wants to sell me a whole new furnace for $3000 that I don't have right now. Does this sound right? I have had zero problems with my furnace until this week. Help!

He is correct. Made by ICP, the burners are obselete. At 21 yrs old it may need a new gas valve etc etc soon and will be a money pit. I have worked on lots of them.

Lennox G51 or G61V. Both very good and I have sold/seen lots of them in operation for 6 yrs with very few problems.
