Got a service contract with a new company. He found the TXV bulb in the outside unit broken off. Service man disconnected the entire heat pump until he could get the new part, saying it could blow out the compressor without a working valve. Now my auxiliary heat is very cool also, and I have to manually turn it on and off at the thermostat to get auxiliary to come on. The heat worked fine for 5 days before he came to do the fall maintenance check. Does this sound right to you?
