My Coleman furnace won't stay lit long enough. It will light for a few seconds, then turn off, repeat, etc. Sometimes it will stay lit for a few minutes and put out some heat. The small blower seems to be running properly when this happens. The furnace has the resistive element type igniter. Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks

Clean your flame sensor with steel wool. Avoid touching the ignitor.

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

I called an hvac service co. and they gave me the same advice, only emery cloth instead of steel wool. I did this and it is working for now. She also said to make sure there is no blockage of the flu. Thanks for the advice.
