Hello and thanks in advance for any advice. I have a Rheem gas furnace approx 1o years old. There seems to be what I would consider an abnormal delay in getting the furnace to fire and occasionally - no fire at all.

Typically
-Programmable stat calls for heat
-Vent motor starts (not sure if this is supposed to happen before/after pilot goes on)
-Ignitor glows
-Gas valve clicks
-Furnace ignites

This occurred within a few minutes. Occasionally, the stat calls for heat and the ignitor glows for what could be 10-20 minutes to hours(no fan on either). Not sure if it's the S89G module controlling everything or something hanging up in the circuit. If I reset everything - the problem subsides for a while.

It sounds like the burners need to be removed and cleaned or replaced.

Just pull out the tube assembly for the pilot gas bar? Or the main burners? I do remember cleaning the pilot gas orifice tube last year figuring maybe the gas was not reaching the pilot but I will revisit this again. Thank you.

If you mean the main burner assembly - can you give me a little more info on how this is causing the problem?
