I have a 15+ year old Ruud furnace located in my basement and would like to explore the possibilites of retrofitting the unit from a standing pilot to a glow ignitor. Is this at all possible and what parts will I need? The unit is a Ruud Silhouette/Honeywell standing pilot system. Happy to supply more details if necessary.. Thx
*Reason: Pilot is blown out about every other ignition.. I have a similar unit in my attic that has a glow type ignition.

I would first determine the cause for the pilot being blown out. Something is not working correctly and changing the ignition may treat the symptom but not the cause. If the cause is serious, you're doing yourself a diservice by not finding it.
Look ino an intermiitent spark/pilot ignition. Since you have a pilot system now, keeping the same technology (pilot) but not having it standing seems the best path to follow IMHO.
