My Daughter has a new house (to her)with a Carrier Weathermaker 8000 furnace. It seemed to be working fine until a few days ago. Now it will run for a while, then the burner will turn off, then when the burner kicks on again, the gas shuts off after about 3 seconds. It cycles through again, but everytime the burner kicks on, it only stays lit for a few seconds before the gas shuts off. After a few cycles of this, the furnace shuts down and doesn't start again until we turn it off and then back on. Could there be a sensor that is trying to measure whether or not the flame is on that is malfunctioning and shutting off the gas? Thanks for your time.

Hi,Sounds like flame sensor is dirty. Clean it.

Cleaning the sensor appears to have worked. Thanks for the help.
