I am looking at replacing the manual thermostat with a programmable one (5-1-1 style). I am assuming that I have a multi-stage heat pump, since the current thermostat does have Auxillary and Emergency indicators.
Wanted to see if anyone could recommend a 5-1-1 thermostat as a replacement for the manual one that I currently have.
Thanks for any recommendations.

Go to Lowes and purchase a Honeywell RTH7500D. Honeywell also make the vision pro touch screen seriesm but are harder to purchase if your not a contractor.

Hi, When you replace the 'stat, please read the instruction and do make sure you turn the power off to the system first. I like Honeywell Vision Pro a lot. Easy arm chair programming. ex-Honeyweller

The Honeywell Visionpro TH8320 and TH8321 will support your heat pump.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

I agree, the Vision Pro is the way to go! I install dozens of them and have yet to have a failure. They are not hard to buy, Home Depot carries them.
It's only a shock if your not expecting it!
