Hi all...
Last year I got my evaporator coil replaced with a higher effic. one than was in the original unit..The AC worked fine. Last winter the HEAT would cut off and the flashing light said over limit issue, so I opened the side of the ACOIL to let the air flow better and had no problems LAST winter. this winter it started to happen again, but now I can not even get the darn unit started. I thought it could be that the overlimit never reset... and this could still be the issue, but I only saw to "switches" one on top of the burners and one on the face of the unit when looking above the burner assembly. I jumbered both of these but still nothing. I relaced the door, so that is not it. One more think I have a zone system, but that was never the issue last time and I really suspect something else, as the zone box is not even getting 24 volt power from the furness.. If anyone wants to call me I would love the help! 770418 9245

If the unit has a zoning system, and you are not getting power to the zone controls then I would be looking at that as your problem. It's hard for a control system to call for heat when they aren't powered! See if you have a blown control fuse or a burned out control transformer in the unit. It is also possible that the zone controls have their own control transformer, that may be faulty or powered off. It's hard to help you with more specifics without knowing more about your particular system.
BTW: an incorrectly installed and configured or malfunctioning zoning system can very easily cause high limit problems on a furnace. The fact that you had to pull a panel off to keep the limits from tripping points to airflow problems such as not enough zones opening / not enough bypass air.
It's only a shock if your not expecting it!
