I just installed a he 360 humidifier with a h8908b humidistat. Everything appears to be working,solenoid kicks in and water is coming out of the drain tube when the furnace blower kicks in. My first question is: how do I know if the humidifier blower is working? also, is the adjusting end of the water solenoid supposed to get hot during operation?

Read the instructions. I believe that humidifier uses the furnace blower as the means for air circulation through the humidifier. The solenoid can get hot when it's energized.
