I am attempting to change my old Trane weathertron thermostat BAYSTAT240 with a new honeywell RTH7000 and i ran into a problem there is am extra wire that was attached to the T terminal but there is no T on the honeywell what do I do? Please Help.

the "t" wire is for communications IE a flash code indicator for the system it is not needed with the new stat it was there to remind the h/o the system was in emergency or aux heat. just clip the copper off the wire and cap the wire away.

Thank you so very much next problem what is my system type What is it. I have a trane xe1000 heat pump modal # twr030c100A2 outside and a trane 2 1/2 -5 ton- convertible air handler modal # TWE030C140 when asked on my new stat is it a multiple stage 2 heat and 1 cool or 2 cool and 1 heat or 2 of each. or heat/cool with centra air or heat pump or heat only wit fan or heat pump wit aux what do i select?
