Would appreciate your advice on the 24V wiring for a gas furnace and 410A heat pump (Armstrong Air Products). A new installation with A-coil in furnace. Furnace has panel strip for R, C, W, G, Y. Heat pump panel strip is W, C, L, R, O, Y1. Old Honeywell Tstat base has B, R, X, G, O, Y, W.
I have wired furnace with R, W, G to Tstat. Furnace runs OK when Tstat selector arm is placed on emergency heat. The Tstat red and amber lamps burn together whenever Tstat does NOT call for heat. They both go out whenever there is a call for furnace to heat.
The heat pump has not received 24V wiring AS OF yet. I plan to try to wire it as follows:
Tstat O to HP O Tstat Y to HP Y1 Furnace C to HP C Furnace R to HP R
There is a yellow factory stranded wire and a Lt blue stranded factory wire lying loose inside HP wiring area. Wiring diagram directs field wiring be connected from Y1 to yellow stranded and the Lt blue stranded wire to Y2. There is no Y2 on Tstat. These two stranded wires terminate at a diagnostic module.
What should be done to make the wiring proper so the furnace and HP work satisfactory? The old R22 system HP ran OK when Tstat selector arm was placed on heat. Old furnace ran OK when Tstat selector arm was placed on emergency heat.
The old system had a Honeywell R822201014 multi-position relay that was apparently used for some switching but it was disconnected and I have no idea how to reconnect it. Do I need a different thermostat?
