have 1 zone that is constantly heating. Thermostat is now turned all the way down. Heat continues. In this oil-fired hot water baseboard heat system, is there a way to turn off just one zone on a mulit-zone system?

Hi,
Did you check the valve? It is possible it is stuck(jammed) open causing constant heating.

Hi,
It is possible solenoid valve is stuck open causing runaway heating.

how many zones do you have. count up all the thermostats that you have and that is how many zones you have. If you turn the thermostat down below the room temp the zone should shut off. Is your system in runaway heat where you cant shut if off and it just keeps on running and running. let me know. Have you had anyone in the house working on the system they may have left the zone valves in the manual position instead of auto. My guess is you have a shorted thermostat wire or a bad thermostat of a zone valve that is stuck open and wont close.

3 zones. thermostat has been turned down to 50. seems to be runaway heating situation. I did notice the switch on each of the zones and all are set to auto. I figure it's a thermostat issue, but nothing open at this hour. How can I determine if a zone valve is stuck open?
