I Have a stupid question. I have a york heatpump. When i installed it, it had a leak from the factory. I fixed it, leak tested and pumped it down. I put freon on per super cool. It worked GREAT all summer long. Now in heat the condensor shuts off after 10 min. The gauges do call me a RETARD before it shuts off. Could be low on freon? What is the main cause and any other causes?

not a stupid question. I live in Sandy Valley (about 50 miles SW of Vegas). Same problem. Just installed mine. After several days of trouble shooting I've talked with a york tech who says no matter what the literature says about my air handler blower being used on a system this size, the tech says it has to have a 5 ton blower. My system is only a 4 ton, but this is what york told me. My model # is EB17C. It's new, and I just installed it. The blower in this air handler was only a 3 1/2 ton. The blower is much easier to replace than the txv valve. To get help from york support you must say you are an licensed installer... 877-874-7378 or for manufactured homes 00-228-7896. Good luck.

Did you install a bi-flow liquid lie drier. Heat pumps MUST have a Bi-flow.

test the outdoor txv valve by placing the sensor bulb, first in a glass of ice water then in warm water to see if it ramps up and down.sounds like it might be defective.
