the house we bought has two heat pumps with two gas furnaces. we'd love to replace them with new gas packs, but 'water damage' and 'budget' dont mix very well so...we need to make these last the winter (at least!).

the thermostat wires are still in the walls, but the thermostats themselves are gone. i'd like to get programmable ones (5/2 is good enough) and hopefully have them be powerful enough that we can keep them when we get new setups in a year or two--is that feasible?

anyway, its getting cold, and its hard to work in the house with no heat!

what do you need to know to help?

thanks!
tim

get a couple of Honeywell VisionPro 8000 #TH8320U1008 and a couple of ODT #C7089U1006

This way you can use your current system to save you money.
You can use whatever fuel is cheaper and when the outdoor temp drops where the heatpump does not produce heat any more the thermostat can be programed to automatically switch over to your gas furnace.
