We have 3 york heat pumps on our home. Only 1 is working out of the 3. One is on one side of the house and the other 2 are on the opposite side of the house. The one that is to itself controls the downstair, and that one is functional, the other 2 arent doing anything. There are 2 controllers 1 for each of the ones not working 1 is digital and the other is a mercury switch. We knew 1 of the pumps wasnt working but then the other went out suddenly also. When we turned it on it almost smelled as if something was burning(the heat nor ac had been used off of that one in close to a year) but after a couple of days it just died. The circuit breaker in the house hasn't tripped, I've checked all the fuses outside but what else do we need to be checking before we get a tech out here?

with burning you might want to turn the breaker off and call a tech.

The burning smell usually comes from the dust that has collected on the elements over the Summer months. It should go away after a few moments.

Depending on the model of the York HeatPump and optional accessories installed you may have a high pressure limit switch that has tripped on the outdoor unit. This happens if you have a plugged filter in heat mode or your blower quits for some reason.

This is the first place to start. Look for an external/internal device with two wires and a red or black button about the size of a pencil eraser.
You can look inside the heatpump and it will be attached to a 3/8" line.

Seems odd that Two systems failed at the same time. Might be a power issue.

I checked the for the limit switch on the 2 units. When pressed the fan kicks on and unit starts up but then when released it kicks back off. I cleared the webs out of the way and reset the breakers inside and cranked up the thermmostat. The switch made contact ran for about 3-5 minutes and died out again, the other only came on when the switch was pressed. We checked for all of the filter locations in the house, there were 4 total. Changed 3 of them..The fourth did not have a filter in it (one that goes to one of the non working units), and the area is so compact they might not have a filter in that size, but I will check when I get out today.

I was wondering if you had any more suggestions/ or rather next steps. I have been searching online to see if I can find a manual for this particular model.. The model# is E1FD024S06A, I do realize it is an older model and I have had no luck online looking for a manual (either web or pdf). I would think there should be a reset switch on the blower if its not coming on but was hoping for a manual so I can continue troubleshooting...
any help would be appreciated..
