I have a Carrier 100 Series Gas Furnace. I don't know much about HVAC, but do a lot of electrical work on automotive and heavy equipment. I have read a few threads, and as far as I know I need a new gas valve.
The Situation. A/C Works Fine...had to replace blower motor this summer.
The inducer fan comes on and the electronic ignitor lights the pilot light, but the burner does not light. After a period of time the blower comes on. I have checked some circuits and I think I need a gas valve.
I have pics of the valve if anyone wants to see them, but I will try to describe it as best I can.
The Gas for the pilot comes from the top (inlet side). Just in front of the pilot line is the on/off valve (blue knob). Then there is a blue plastic piece where the spade terminals are.
The leftmost terminal (white wire) has 26V AC, the next two spades are tied together (blue wires) with 0V AC. The third spade is a brown wire with 26V AC, and the last spade (far right) is a green wire with 10V AC.
What I can tell from the diagram is that the blue wire goes to chassis ground.
If anybody could help I would appreciate it. It's going to get cold soon.
Thanks
Joshua Powell
