I recently had my 76 year old mothers Ruud furnace serviced.

I knew it was the hsi ignitor. I didn't have the experience to fix the problem if it was more extensive. I paid for the service call: $80.00. I think that's fair. The service tech replaced the hsi ignition.

The company charged $139.00 for an hsi ignighter. That's a list price for a OEM Ruud part. They installed a $30.00 York part.

It's a 120 volts, it works, but really...

I'm going to complain obviously, but I think they just tried to rip off an old lady. That sucks...

Please comment...

Thanks, Quin

Overhead for van, van ins, pay, van stock, trainning, gas,20 mim out 20 min back, accounting, callback for bad new part, builder ins, and profit what little there is after all this.

I would have charged way more:

Service call: $75.00
Part: $30.00
Airfare from NY $800.00 R/T

Look at customer's face when receiving the bill: PRICELESS
HEHEHEHE

THAT'S ABOUT WHAT MOST COMPANIES WOULD CHARGE IN NY.
IN ALASKA=BARGAIN
