from 4 speed to 3 speed motor blower. Question about yellow

replacing GE 4 speed motor with a 3 speed AO smith.
old motor had blue.red.yellow.black and white.
not the old motor hooked on the board with the blue.red.yellow and black right next to each other on the board. the white plugged into another section of the board on the (com) connector
---NOW the new motor just has blue,red, yellow and black do i plug them into where the old ones were expect the white cause it isnt *

Or do i use the yellow as the common and plug the others together where they once where bue.red.black

There is a schematic on the side of the blower motor. If you can't read the schmatic you should not be changing the motor at all. But if you insist the yellow is the common.
