Hello,
I have the following York -
Model - YZB02411C
- 2.0T 13S HP R410A
My home is 1200 SQF.
I am in Montreal, Quebec
I am using what is called “Bi-Energy”
If the outside temperature is warmer than –12 Celsius, then my home is heated by the heat pump. If it is colder than –12 C, my home is heated by Oil.
However, even though the temperature is warmer than –12 Celsius, (it is currently –2 Celsius) my oil ends up heating my house.
I contacted my dealer (the company that installed the heat pump) and he did a complete check and found nothing wrong. He did tell me that if the heat pump cannot achieve the desired temperature that is set on the thermostat after running for 1 hour, then oil will take over.
Is this true and is this supposed to happen?
Thanks in advance.
