Not heating

I noticed my system not heating up this morning. Thermastat is programable. it is set @ 64 it won't get any warmer than 62. When heat kicks on it only stays on for thirty seconds or so. then the thermostat goes blank & comes back on & says wait. then the cycle starts all over. Please can some one point me in the right direction. The sytem is a heat pump.

Is your thermostat a wireless thermostat? If so, then it may be the batteries. Did you also check the furnace to see if the burners are coming on. If it still doesn't work, you could always call a **://-.mrquikhomeservices.com/air-conditioning/-* **-* professional to check it out.
