Hi tech present

Hi everyone
II have a dear friend who is a swimmer, she has been looking for a long time for a hi-tech object to use every day to note things that come to mind even at the swimming baths, to record her vocal notes when she is resting between a length and the next.
I know she tried some watches, which should have been waterproof, but after two times at the swimming baths, she had to throw them away; other models are huge and do many good things except recording, the same for cellular phones, which are not practical to take around either.
Now her birthday is coming, have you an idea of something that might be ok for her. Possibly something to be worn on the wrist, as it is the most comfortable and immediate and always with you.

Nothing wrist-worn comes to mind, but any good quality voice recorder, combined with a "dry bag" could be OK - I have a Sealline Electronics Bag - It's a small transparent bag with a heavy rubber zipper closure for my phone when I go canoeing & camping. - 100% waterproof in 3ft of water for 1/2 hr - (although I've never tested that - It has saved my expensive smart phone from the occasional dip in the water) and I can even operate the touchscreen and use the phone without taking it out of the bag.
