I have an old American Standard Natural Gas hot water boiler for baseboard heat.
Everything works perfectly fine.
I poked around & found on the front of the cast iron box, a plug with what appears to be a 1" NPT thread.
I was thinking of ways to reduce my gas bill in Winter & thought of inserting a 12volt, 600Watt water heater element in the attempt to "hold" the tank water at temp once the gas burners have done the initial work to heat the water in the system
So,... Who thinks this will work, who thinks it may work & who thinks I am a moron ???
