Remove thermostat with power on?

Remove thermostat with power on?

Thermostat instructions say to remove it from base to replace batteries. Doesn't say anything about turning power off at furnace. Is it safe to remove thermostat with the power on? I mean safe in the sense that it won't hurt the thermostat.

tHERE IS NO RISK WITH REMOVING THERMOSTAT FROM THE BACE PLATE TO CHANGE THE BATTERYS

Mti student- Base not bace, what are they teaching you over there? are you really going to the real MTI or is it a aftermarket school.

lol Hell the price they charge it better be the real school , Yes HVAC/MAR . And wow how the hell did I make that typo
