connecting new thermostat to exisiting humidistat

QUESTION....I am looking for a new nonprogrammable thermostat with a time delay switch (compressor protection). I will then have to connect it to an exsisting (ancient) humidistat..OR bypass it.

Can you tell me either 1) how to bypass it, or 2) how to connect it to the new *

You might want to keep everything as it is now wired and introduce a timer like an ICM 254 (Google ICM 254 or go to "-.*).
