Does anyone know of a stat that will operate down to 0 degrees C? I want to be able to keep my shop at just above freezing. Most stats only go down to about 10 degrees C.

you may want to consider a refrigeration system rather than an air conditioner. i have to ask, what do you do in your shop ?

I'm not trying to cool my shop. I want a heat only stat that will keep the shop just around the freezing mark. I don't use the shop on a daily basis but I want to conserve fuel. Sorry for the missunderstanding

gotcha. i think a low end commercial stat (-30 to 100) should work. it has two switches....one makes and the other breaks. you should be able to buy that at any supply house that deals in refrigeration.

Where do you live? Also is your garage attached to a building that is heated or is your garage insulated? I know our garage is insulated and it also has the furnace and water heater in it. Because of those, the garage stays above freezing even when it's way below freezing. I guess a thermostat could do keep it at just above freezing. **://-.prothermostats.com/-* **-* has thermostats and might have what you are looking for.

Any thermostat would keep it at about 50*F ~ I don't know what that is in C*.

If you leave it at freezing~32* pipes would freeze because the copper lines would be colder...
