Ok Im not a big Diy'er lol, but I figured I would ask the techs first. My blower motor is working 50% of the time or less and everything Ive read points to it humming and drawing to much amperage and not coming on as being bad. So IM getting ready to pull it and get info and order a new one, any pointers and tips when I get that squirrel cage out, what to look for,do? other then pulling the motor from the fan?? Thanks, 1st time Homeowner with no money for a tech to come out...

Change the blower motor capacitor first, and see if that takes care of the overheating motor.

scary part here is, the gentleman stated that he was a home owner and is advised to change/check the cap first BUT didn't tell the guy that the cap holds power hence the shock possibility. and the h.o. probably doesn't have a meter or know how to read it! ...in closing i agree to ck cap first
