I am replacing a very old dial type thermostat with a Hunter 44620 Heat Pump thermostat. Link to 44620 manual...*-*://-.hardwarestore.com/media/pdf-misc/603274.**-*. Here is a link to the Carrier model the t-stat is for...*-*://-.xpedio.carrier.com/idc/groups/public/documents/techlit/50yx-2pd.**-*. It is called a Single-Package Heat Pump.
I have 5 wires coming out of the wall, but only 4 are used.
Blue ----> O
Green --> G
Red -----> Rc
Yellow -> Y
White --> Not Used
Jumper from Rc to Rh
Jumper from W to Y
A White wire on the old t-stat's board goes to Y
I am ok with Green (G) and Red (Rc), but Blue (O) and Yellow (Y) go to the same place. This does not seem correct since the manual has an OR condition for O and Y. Also, should I jump W and *
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
John
