Payne 410A 13 Seer problem

I have a 13 Seer Payne 410A heatpump that was just installed last Oct. On spring startup found that reversing valve was bad. Got the warranty replacement and installed it. While I was getting the charge correct about 20 mins into run my suction pressure dropped out and head pressure rocketed. I am not hearing the reversing valve switching. After unit sits for 5-6 mins it goes back into cooling and does the same thing again. I am kinda stuck on this one any *

Yes it shut off on overload. The outdoor air temp was 90 with 92% humidity. Indoor air temp was 84. Head pressure was running at 260 and suction at 125.

I found a restriction after recovery. Unit has not done was it was before so that had to been it. Although I am having a time charging unit to required as of on the service panel chart. It is 93 degrees with 44% humidity and running 290 head and 180 suction is that supposed to be that high of a suction. The way the chart is showing is im still low on charge.

did you change the filter/drier and pull a vacuum using a micron gauge *

will the unit pump down *

YEs the unit pumps down. I used micron gauge and it sucked to 400 microns.

1 You need to be 300 microns or less in the vacuum of a 410a system.
2 You need to let that stand awhile and see if it holds that. (an hour or two is usually good)
3 you need to charge it by subcooling, not gauge pressure.
4 If thats a micro channel condenser coil you need to calculate the charge, and weigh that in. (It will need a month or more to break in that scroll compressor before your pressures and subcooling are correct).

always use manufacturer's chart for charging if available. your vacuum is fine at 400 microns if it held in a stand test. if this is a r22 system, 180 is definitely too high for suction pressure. did you get this straightened out yet * what were your final sc and sh readings *

from the start having a hard time buying into the reversing valve being bad from the manufacture i am more inclined to believe tech error for example welding with no nitro or running out while brazing ive done it myself, causing a restriction.i love how everyone jumps to technical jargin flexing their educational muscles numbers specs formulas etc...did anyone ask of the application.I.E fellow techs u know this 410a is different animal from 22 challenging but still a pain in the ass...food for thought i had difference of opinion with a coworker pertaining to me saying the system was properly charged he telling me it was undercharged,so both of us being confident made a very large bet as to who was right long story short we put 4 setsof 410 gauges on the system ALL 4 READ DIFFERENT BY 15 + PSI .......WHOOPS WHAT WAS THIS POST ABOUT AGAIN sorry lol...oh yeah the gentileman that suggests a restriction i disagree according to the information given in my exp. ive never had a restriction that took 20 mins. to show its face
