Rheem Heat Pump Troubleshooting

Turn off power. At the heat pump, remove any wires to the Emergency heat or Aux heat terminals at the heat pump control board. Tape the bare ends of those wire(s). Now call for heat. Do the strips still come * If so you may have a relay issue. If they don't, then check how you have the thermostat wired. Don't assume wire colors match terminal connections... trace all wires. Check how you have the system designated in the thermostat setup.
