Its not as hard as you might think but the duke is right the new installers will be able to handle it easily enough. By the way most jobs are flat rate not hourly in hvac.

Is there a preferred way to remove the mastic without damaging or scratching up the furnace?
You can choose RoofStuff to avail high standard roof supports, duct supports, pipe support and more.
The plan is not to remove the "mastic" but rather break it apart and then reseal the new duct connections.

im courious to heatseekers response where iam at it would be based on time and material to move used equipt. in my exp. w/mastic my worry would be making sure u get all the old off cause i cant get nothing to stick to it properly that will hold over time

aluminum tape will work if you do it right.
