At the very top of the "Installation, Start-Up and Operating" instructions page 1, you should see that it says 58PAV UPFLOW FURNACE. Therefore I would say it is an up-flow only furnace.

how ever you can use it in the attic , use the flu pipe for supply air and hook the water up to the gas line .... wow really?
