trane xe1100 heatpump Wiring for only *

Is there a way to wire a trane xe1100 heatpump for ac only I currently have it wired as a heat pump but I would like to know if and what wires I can eliminate to use it for just a airconditioner.

Why oh * Just use it in cool mode. Oh let me guess you are buying a used heat * Not a good plan mainly because used condensers are never a good idea because the bozo that disassembled it usually doesn't seal the openings and the oil absorbs an extra ordinary amount of moisture. SO-- when you the buyer gets it reinstalled no amount of filter driers or vacuum pumps could ever get all of the moisture out and you-the buyer- have a burnt up compressor with a bunch of junk in your coils.

No I already have this system installed for 6 years I want to change it to just ac because its cheaper for me to heat with just the oil furnace and use the heatpump for just ac. Reason being is the oil is furnished free for the furnace.

Is it possible, at the thermostat, to set the thermostat to Cool * That would be the easiest way.

Okay good you can pay someone to disconnect the reversing valve to only run in cool mode, not to difficult if you know what you are doing, but Like I said call a pro it will probably save you money in the long run.
