I replaced the thermostat with a new Honeywell and wired it up myself according to the old wiring. Now, it seems like the fan runs until the air is hot so the temperature in the room starts to rise. The compressor will kick in and cool it back down. Repeat. The fan is almost never off, even after I manually raise the temperature a few degrees. Right now the temp shows 2-3 degrees lower than the "set temp" and the fan is still coming on without the compressor and running as short as 30 seconds to as long as 2 or 3 minutes.
