Trane XE 80 Status Code LED Question

Postby stevem447 » Thu Jul 12, 2012 5:53 pm

Hello all,

I am new to this forum, I have a Trane XE 80 Model TUD080C936H4, The blower motor went this week, I replaced the blower motor and the run capacitor. The unit comes on and appears to be running OK, however the White and Rogers control board (50A50 – 473) has a steady blinking light, the status codes are not listed on the unit, before I buy a new controller I'd like to find out if this code is normal or if there is an issue. I stopped the unit and checked the new motor and it is a bit hot, but the board is not hot and I do not smell anything burning, as I did with the old motor I replaced. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you absolutely sure the new run capacitor is the one specifically for that new motor? What was the cause of death for the old motor? When you changed out the motors, did you have power off to the furnace?

Thank you, theduke03. The easy answer is usually the best answer and yours is both.
