Changing thermostats

I am trying to install a Honeywell RTH6350D. The old thermostat is a LENNOX 21J7101. The old wiring is as -

Y1 * Yellow wire
G * Green wire
R * Red wire
C * Blue wire
O * Black wire
W1 * White wire BUT shared with a red wire that comes directly from the old Lennox thermostat

I tried to install the new Honeywell but could not get it to blow cold air, just regular air. The Honeywell tech support told me to not use the "C" wire anymore and they didn't know what to do with the white wire that was previously shared with the red thermostat wire. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The W wire goes to the W terminal of the thermostat. The C is not needed (tape it) because you have batteries. If you have problems get a thermostat that's not battery powered... much less maintenance.
