I don't think I have ever heard of this. Do you have any other * I don't think that I would run this system but I love the idea!

Gee lets think about this on ton of cooling * amount of heat required to melt one ton of ice in 24 hours. Lets say a building has a cooling requirement of 60 tons in twenty four hours, that's a lot of ice. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree with heatseeker. That is a whole heck of a lot of ice needed. Conditions of home or commercial building infrastructures would need to be a factor even before considering how much ice would be needed.
