Furnace always starts on second try.

I have a janitrol furnace model GDS80453ANA. When the thermostat directs it to turn on, the draft inducer turns on, a few seconds later the igniter glows red, the gas flows and ignites in only one of the two burners. After a few seconds the gas turns off....as it should since the flame detector is in front of the burner that does not ignite. After a few seconds the process starts again but this time both burners ignite. This happens every time it is supposed to turn on. I had the burners replaced. No faults on the control board.

Any ideas?

Things you might -

Make sure the opening in each gas orifice for each burner is clean. You may need a pin to clean them, depending on their diameter.

Make sure when the burners were replaced the HSI (Hot Surface Ignition system) was not accidentally moved.

Depending on the age of the HSI, it may not be getting hot enough (white hot) and needs replacement. The lighting on the second try might be explained as the first burner's heat contributing to help the 2nd burner ignite on the 2nd try.
