What is the relationship between Carrier and Bryant. I've seen tstats that are supposedly Carrier units sold with Bryant faceplates.
I have also discovered that Carrier and Bryant do not sell these things to individuals. Ebay has some but I am leery about them. Is there someplace I missed on the net that sells them for less than both arms and both legs.

I don't know the exact relationship between the companies. I believe the Bryant line is a lower grade system that Carrier also manufacturers.

Many thermostats are made by the big companies like White Rogers, Robert Shaw and Honeywell and then the companies like Carrier simple put their name on them. It's very possible you'll find a White rogers thermostat that has all the functionality you want. Check the HVAC supply houses like Johnstone or McCalls. They should have what you need. However for a specific Carrier brand thermostat you'll need to go to a Carrier distributor.
