New Boiler Information Needed

I am in need of a new bolier , right now I have a 20 year old Well Mclain.I called an indepentendent contractor still waiting on price quote.The two boilers he mentioned are Peerless or Burnham . I have oil heat, with water expansion tank we use the boiler for hot water as well there is about 13 radiators in the house 2 floors.Please let me know from your expertise on which boiler is more efficient/ better overall.

Does the current boiler provide sufficient heat on a cold February night? If so, get the gross BTU and Net BTU input so you can size the new boiler correctly. Some boilers are more easy to get in the distribution channel and therefore some HVAC companies prefer those. Get quotes for the complete installation from 3 HVAC companies. Study all warranties and check the HVAC companies' reputation. Many times the installer is more important than the hardware.
